The Sapphire Cruises online meeting and home meeting program is unique among travel sellers. It all started as a dream over a cup of coffee. The two of us had been on a "girl's night out" at a home jewelry event hosted by a friend. We went to our friend's house, bought some jewelry items for an upcoming cruise, and stopped for a cup of coffee on the way home. While sitting there, we started brainstorming about ways to improve our travel agency. The most important thing to us was offering our clients superb customer service. We also felt that our clients needed to be educated and informed about the purchases they were making. That's not easy to do over the phone. Many people leave for their vacations with no idea of really what to expect. One of the greatest fears among human beings is the fear of the unknown. It is important to us that our clients are as informed as possible prior to departing for their vacations, thus alleviating those fears.
Like a flood, the idea for the home meetings started flowing. These ideas began as scribbles on the back of a piece of scratch paper. We felt we could give the best customer service to our clients in the home setting (through either online meetings or home meetings). People would feel the most comfortable in their own homes or in the home of a friend or relative. Also, no one would book a vacation with Sapphire Cruises and not know what to expect when they left home - they would be informed travelers.
We certainly can't take all the credit for the success that Sapphire Cruises has experienced. Much of the credit has to go to our team of top-notch independent travel agents who work every bit as hard as we do to make Sapphire Cruises the leader in group travel.
